Conversations on Design with Andre Leon Talley

André Leon Talley, formerly editor-at-large at Vogue, is now contributing editor and host of Vogue's podcast. He received the Himmel Award in 2015 from the Katonah Museum of Art. Talley has covered fashion since he came to New York City in 1974. He worked for Andy Warhol's Interview, then moved directly to Women's Wear Daily. Talley has authored and co-authored books including A.L.T.: A Memoir, A.L.T. 365+, Little Black Dress, and Oscar de la Renta: His Legendary World of Style, Valentino, and Valentino: At the Emperor's Table. Talley has appeared on Entertainment Tonight for his red carpet commentary and was recently on an episode of the television show Empire, playing himself. Talley has recently started a new career: dressing the windows at the new Rizzoli bookstore. He works with books related to style, celebrities, interiors, fashion design, and haute couture.

 

Daniella Ohad received her Ph.D. from the Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts, Design, and Culture. For the past two decades, she has been committed to education in design history, theory, decorative arts, and collecting. Now she teaches at the New York School of Interior Design and regularly conducts and curates public lectures, moderates panels, and speaks in academic conferences. She publishes in both scientific journals and popular magazines on topics related to design and material culture. As an art adviser, she has assembled distinctive private collections of twentieth-century decorative arts. Ms. Ohad takes part in the museums arena as a member of several acquisition committees of major museums in New York City.
